Finally, i got something right, Corey Maggette wasn’t Sixth Man of the Year although he’s my choice, it went to Leandro Barbosa, Deron Williams didn’t win MIP, although i think he should, it went to Monta Ellis, Don Nelson didn’t win Coach of the Year, it went to Sam Mitchell.

BUT!!, Marcus Camby was my pick for DPOY, and guess who won DPOY, yes, MARCUS CAMBY baby, so we are 1/4 in our current predictions, and congratulations to Marcus Camby for finally holding a Defensive Player of the Year title under his belt.

Marcus Camby – Defensive Player of the Year

it had to happen, it just had to happen, Vince Carter just had to miss a WIDE OPEN game tying three pointer in front of a sell-out crowd in East Rutherford. But when you go 1-11 in an 8 minute span against the Nuggets and let them outscore us by 15 in the third, i don’t think the team earned the right to hit that game tying three.

The Good
– Marcus Williams? he’s really good, he’s a good ball hogger and very inconsistent
– Mikki Moore shows us why we need to resign him him in the off-season, 12 points, 9 boards, 4 blocks. He and DeShawn Stevenson could just be the most economical FA signings of the season.
– the 16-3 spurt to get us back within 1 point was the highlight stretch of the game for the Nets.
– Lawrence Frank looks like George Karl’s porter, is that a good thing?
– Vince Carter having a near triple double.
– the team shot a WHOPPING 86% from the line. how miraculous is that, and should i note that the team always shoot a high percentage when hey shoot around 20-25?
– we held a team that was 33-10 when scoring a 100 to 90 points
– no more Wesern conference opponents, good gracious

The BAD
– live by the three, die by the three, the team was shooting an awful 0.158% and anyone noticed a change in Boki Nachbar since the return of RJ? he’s not attacking the hoop anymore, and is just hell-bent on shooting jumpers which is BULLSHIT
– Jason Kidd was a total non-factor in 39 minutes, shooting 2-10, unexpected performance
– the third quarter stretch was just pain to watch, especially after building such a good lead going into Halftime, i am just amazed that no one attacked Melo giving him having foul trouble early on.
– Richard Jefferson is back but another thing that is new about him, he’s starting to jack up more and more three pointers everygame, and not like he’s hitting them at a steady clip, 1-5 is never good.
– Carmelo Anthony was just too much for us, Rodrique Benson was right all the long.
– i tought we only struggle with our defense, this game was a 180 degree turnaround, the offense was EFFKingly terrible, what was Vince Carter thinking with that walk?NO, that is not good defense by the Nuggs, it’s just typical Cousin Skippy.
– they shot 32 FTs!!
– we let a team that was 0-21 when scoring below a 100 register their first W of the season when scoring under 100.
– even if we do make the playoffs, i doubt we could go far, theres no swagger in the team, no rhytm and couldnt even buy a win against teams above 0.500.

Lines of the Game
Final Score : New Jersey Nets 90 – 94 Denver Nuggets
VC Line : 29 points, 9 assists, 7 rebounds
Jason Kidd Line : 5 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 2-10 FGs
Jason Collins Line : 2 points, 2 rebounds, 3 PFs

New Jersey Nets 31-36
Denver Nuggets 33-31

Before we get ourselves too carried away with the 3-1 record over the past week, let me bring us back down to earth, the three wins the team recorded over the past week was against teams below 0.500, and the only game against a 0.500 team, which was Miami, we lost. Oh ya, by the way, The Nuggs are a team which is on a four game roll and the outplayed the Suns for what could be their most impressive win of the season.

Anyway, I’ll stop popping holes in our rising balloon. One of the reasons why the Suns lost to the Nuggs was they couldn’t find a way to contain Allen Iverson; they did a decent job on Melo’ but A.I was just too much for them, well, same thing goes here, we have to do a good job on him. The best thing Lawrence Frank could, i think is to play a zone and try to roughen up the boys from Denver abit, some hard fouls, and force them to shoot three pointers from outside by cutting off the lanes, for as far as i know J.R Smith and Dermarr Johnson are the only legit shooters on the team, AND, the way the Nuggets’ offense runs, i don’t think our team is really equipped to stop them if they are allowed to play their up-tempo style of play unless they could force and bog the game down to into a halfcourt game.

Things that are going our way though is that the Nuggets haven’t won a game in ER for 6 straight games, and Anthony is only averaging 17.8 ppg in contests against the Nets, so let’s hop he stays cold, but even better news comes in the form of relief towards Jason Collins, for the first in alot of games, he doesn’t need to face a strong an scoring lowpost player, but that doesn’t mean Nene and Camby can’t score on him.

This is another chance for the team to stretch the lead at the 7th spot, for if everything goes according to plan and Indiana lose to Houston, we would be 1 game ahead of Indy and 1.5 ahead of the Knicks, Go Nets, Jason, don’t screw things up please! thanks!

Lines for the Game
Final Score : Nets by 3
VC projection : 31, 3 threes
Jason Kidd projection : 18, 11, 8
Jason Collins projection : 2 points, 5 rebounds, 4 PFs
Matchup of the Game : Jason Kidd – Allen Iverson

(edit : i have a feeling that we will get torched by somebody, somebody!, I have a really bad feeling that Skippy will make a return, i mean he comes back to haunt us all the time, right???right??)

is Amare Stoudemire triggering some heat right here? cos woo talk about new motivation for Agent Z3ro

“I did hear that they wanted to be the Phoenix Suns of the East, I think there’s only one Phoenix Suns, and we rest in the West. And that’s how it’s going to be for a while.”
spite me!!

Amare..Amare didnt you know that Gilbert Arenas scours the papers everyday for comments like this? next thing we know Arenas is gonna come out with a statement stating he’s gonna posterize STAT with a windmill dunk or whatsoever

but still, The Suns proved why they are the hottest team in the L, and the Wiz showed why the East are a bunch teams with loaded cannons that shoots without aim, Suns had the Wiz beat in the early going and never looked back, Steve Nash showed wy he’s a DOUBLE MVP winner with 27 on 11-13 shooting and 14 assists to earned the PotD yo!

– i know Denver are winning but the last 2 games featuring the Meloson show? the main player that bought them the win was good ole Steve Blake, give him some props! Nuggets overcome Jesus’s 44 to win 117-112
(edit: 34 from RUSTY Melo)

i blame today’s lost against the Kings as a fault of both Lawrence Frank and Eddie House, i have nothing against Vince Carter which in my opinion has not have a good game since who knows how long ago, we led by 20 at one point and in the we succumbed to good ole Mike Bibby’s yucky heroics. Kings win 89-88

i seriously wonder….

Lawrence Frank
– can he justify the minutes he’s given to Eddie House when clearly the man isnt producing with the amount of minutes he’s had on the court i mean 23 minutes only and he jacked up 16 shots? im baffled! he had a game where he made key shots down the stretch but hey hes not producing this time round so would you please?
– playing Clifford Robinson for 28 freaking minutes? that’s almost double the amount of time josh Boone is getting but their productions are almost the same, i hate to say this again and again Cliff Robinson is old, it’s time to pass the mantle yo!, obviously Josh Boone is playing better why?
– playing Vince Carter for 28 minutes…

Eddie House
– yo dude! if you know you aint hitting it then pass up the shot, dun shoot when you’re terrible shooting em goodness me

the Cornrow Parade
tonights the day where Carmelo Anthony comes back and we get to see the Melo, AI, and JR Smith triple team! and rightly so today’s PotD goes to Allen Iverson. WHY? well Melo had 28..but AI complemented Melo well with 7 assists and he shot less than Melo did and still had his fair share of points, Jr Smith is averaging 17.5 off the bench in his last 6 games,

u might have to click it to be clear

if this continues, Denver will be one of the teams to watch, but i think 3 or 4 more games into the big three, we’ll see how good they can click
