You know what, when your team’s winning, you kinda forget whatever that is bad in the game, if it’s a blow-out, the better, everyone will just talk about the good points and save the bad ones for later, well, at least that’s what i feel. Once the team losses a game or two , everything bad even from the previous wins will start creeping back. So, no matter how far the Nets go in the playoffs this season, i won’t do anymore complaining or anything, I’ll just enjoy the ride to where the team will take me to. GO NETS!

Playoffs : Eastern Quarterfinals : New Jersey Nets – Toronto Raptors Game 4 review April 30, 2007

It just keeps getting better and better isn’t it, Bargnani hit a three to start off the game for T-dot and that’s the only bright spot for them the entire game, hey at least Bargnani is back on track scoring you know, so keep steppin! and Welcome to the Swamps, Raptors!

Anyway, three games into the series, the Nets are only 16-45 from beyond the arc, so T-dot decided to let them shoot the three tonight, end result? 14-27, a playoff franchise record. T-dot started Bargnani in place of Joey Graham, but it didn’t really matter how much height Toronto had, because New Jersey was smoking from the trey.
Toronto Raptors coach Sam Mitchell directs his team against the New Jersey Nets during the first quarter of Game 4 NBA first-round basketball Sunday night, April 29, 2007, in East Rutherford, N.J. The Nets beat the Raptors, 102-81, to lead the series three games to one.

Jason Collins played Chris Bosh to perfection, bodying up at times, backing off when he needed to, and the fact that Chris Bosh took only 12 shots, i’ve got a feeling that Chris Bosh is a guy that gets shaken up whenever he roughed up. Jason Collins had 3 steals in 23 minutes to signify his defensive presence.

Toronto tried to clog up the lane and deny any slashes and drives to the hole, and they put Bargnani on Vince Carter, and Vince Carter ended teaching Bargnani how not to defend him, VC was almost unstoppable and he also out-scored Toronto alone in the first.
New Jersey Nets' Richard Jefferson shoots against the Toronto Raptors during the first quarter of Game 4 NBA first-round basketball Sunday night, April 29, 2007, in East Rutherford, N.J. Jefferson scored 23 points as the Nets beat the Raptors, 102-81, to lead the series three games to one.
23 points in 30 minutes

Antoine Wright was excellent in his 26 minutes although he again struggled with his shot, but he show quick feet to stay in front of Jose Calderon, i think in Game 5, he would be a factor in stopping Calderon. Mikki Moore was not his old self again, 6 points 7 rebounds and 5 PFs, he needs to break out of this slump soon. Jason Kidd suprisingly shot well in two games, he was 13-24 in the last two games. but still the team needs to attack the rim more and get more from the Free Throw line, 22 attempts per game is not going to cut it. Richard Jefferson had another solid game, and he’s 14-14 from the line in his last 2, but the problem with RJ is he’s still launching too many threes.

The series is heading back to Toronto, and i expect Vince to struggle again, but with morale low on the lizards’ side, it would be good to be able to win another road playoff game. Jason Kidd had a good rest in the fourth so he will be ready for Game 5. Nets in 6 or maybe 5. GO NETS!

Lines of the Game
Final Score : New Jersey Nets 102 – 81 Toronto Raptors
VC Line : 27 points, 7 assists, 7 rebounds, 5 threes
Jason Kidd Line : 17 points, 13 assists, 8 rebounds, 6-10 FGs
Jason Collins Line : 2 points, 2 rebounds, 3 steals
Star of the Game : Vince Carter, 27 points, 7 assists, 7 rebounds, 5 threes, 9-15 FGs
NEW JERSEY NETS 3 – 1 TORONTO RAPTORS

(edit: T.J Ford was reported playing injured, so did he fake his injury? oh.. Lawrence Frank didn;t fell for it did he? Anyhow hope you recover soon, T.J)

Jason Collins a playoffs player? April 29, 2007

“He’s doing a good job of forcing me one way and he’s bodying me up,” Bosh said of Collins. “I really don’t want to shoot too many jump shots against him.”

“You have to compare him to a guy like Bruce Bowen, who can guard a point guard or a small forward,” Jefferson said of his teammate. “It doesn’t matter what his assignment is, he’ll find a way to be successful, because he has a defensive mind-set. Just like a shooter is going to find a way to score. He’s a very good defender. Whether it’s Shaq or Chris Bosh, he’s very intelligent. He thinks the game and makes very few mistakes.”

Vince Carter put it, “Twin is a great team player. He’s built for the playoffs.”

I have to admit his defense on Chris Bosh are one of the keys on why the Nets are successful thus far in the playoffs, but he’s not only contributing in defense, he’s contributing in the offense as well, so the question is, IS JASON COLLINS REALLY BUILT for the playoffs?

check the whole article out HERE

(edit: Richard Jefferson will not be traded, my point is, i see RJ, Krstic and Marcus Williams (and Toine) as the future of this ball club, and with a 17th pick in the draft, we could get someone like Josh McRoberts or Al Thornton and that player could complement Nenad Krstic, besides we have enough big men to fill the bus, so using RJ as trade bait is as unlikely as Jason Collins exploding for 30 points, but then again, you never know.)

NEW JERSEY NETS 2
TORONTO RAPTORS 1

“We knew better,” Mitchell said before the Raptors practice yesterday. “He didn’t look hurt to me last night. We should all play that well, a triple-double with the number he had. Didn’t he (make) history? If that’s injured, I’d like to see him when he’s healthy.”

“Did you all drop out in the fifth grade,” he asked reporters, “or did you make it even that far? The man just set a record. It’s like asking Bill Gates: Is he broke? The man just did something that only three men in the history of the NBA have done and you’re asking me is he faking, do you think he’s really hurt? He just set a record! What do you think?”

“Did I even address it?” he said. “Did I even take two seconds of my time to even discuss it with you guys? Or did I start laughing? We didn’t even talk to (the players) about it because we know better. It’s the playoffs. He’s got to be on his death bed before he’s not going to play in the playoffs.”

Sam Mitchell…get a life alright? even if Jason Kidd is faking his injury, what can you do about it, you can’t possibly want Kidd to apologize and take back the Game 3 win for a rematch? face the facts, your team lost, you got yourself tactically outsmarted by Lawrence Frank, and Jason Kidd had a hell of a game, you got conned into playing mind games and you lost. That’s it.

Game 4 is where the Nets should stamp their mark and run-away with this series, of course winning Game 3 was a huge boost, but it would be a huge mistake to under-estimate the Raptors right now, they will shut down Jason Kidd once again, but if the guys are attacking the rim, i think things would go alright.

For the first time in a very long time, i have to give Jason Collins some props, he was phenomenal in holding Chris Bosh to 35% shooting in the entire series, and Mikki Moore, except for some shattering dunks, he’s virtually non-existent in games 2 and 3, let’s hope he bounces back in game 4.

Lines for the Game
Final Score :
New Jersey Nets by 3
VC Projection : 31, 5, 6
Jason Kidd projection : 16, 11, 11
Jason Collins projection : 2 points, 5 PFs
Matchup of the Game : Chris Bosh – Jason Collins

(edit : i am pausing or putting the Sucko-meter thing on hold, because right now Jason Collins is playing decent ball so i;ve got to cut him some slack. GO NETS!)

Here at Hooplah.. I am officially revealing my desire for the Warriors to whip the Mav’s buttocks, and pull out Mark Cuban’s tongue! i have a distaint dislike for Mark Cuban er..since 2003, he talks too much, spits too much.. even the players couldn’t stand him. (chill, Mavs fans.)
Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban sticks out his tongue as he looks at photographers as his team falls behind the Golden State Warriors during the second half of an NBA basketball Western Conference first-round playoff game in Oakland, Calif., Friday, April 27, 2007. Golden State won 109-91.
Warriors steamrolled Dallas in 2 out 3 three games and taught them the real way to play small ball, they even made Dirk Nowitzki, MVP material..look like Shawn Bradley. oh, Don Nelson is Avery Johnson’s mentor? in Chinese there’s this saying that” Students never outduel the mentor” . 2 more games, and i’ll be officially going for a NEW JERSEY NETS – GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS NBA FINALS match-up.

Raps/Nets Game 3: Chris Bosh takes the night off : Arsenalist gets ****** up after the loss

Nets thrash Raptors 102-89 :

“Vince Carter? The guy couldn’t hit the ocean with a beachball. Thirteen for 43 in two games. Stifled by Anthony Parker. Disinterested in going to the basket. In love with 24-foot fadeaways because attacking the rim was too tough.”

Final thoughts on Nets : Chris Broussard thinks that the Nets could reach the NBA Finals.

Kidd-Carter tag team pins Raptors : Dave D’Alessandro

“The day began with Jason Kidd assuring everyone that his left knee did not bother him, and by the time he racked up nine assists in the first eight minutes, he basically proved his point.”

Two Stars: Kidd and Carter : Al Iannazzone’s piece on the win.

Finally, i got something right, Corey Maggette wasn’t Sixth Man of the Year although he’s my choice, it went to Leandro Barbosa, Deron Williams didn’t win MIP, although i think he should, it went to Monta Ellis, Don Nelson didn’t win Coach of the Year, it went to Sam Mitchell.

BUT!!, Marcus Camby was my pick for DPOY, and guess who won DPOY, yes, MARCUS CAMBY baby, so we are 1/4 in our current predictions, and congratulations to Marcus Camby for finally holding a Defensive Player of the Year title under his belt.

Marcus Camby – Defensive Player of the Year
