Playoffs: Eastern Semifinals: New Jersey Nets – Cleveland Cavaliers game 2 Review May 9, 2007

Posted by netsophobia in Cleveland Cavaliers, NBA Playoffs, New Jersey Nets, Recap, Vince Carter.

Errr…. how do you see this,
1. outrebounded by 17
2. gave up 19 freaking offensive boards
3. Missed nine Free Throws
4. 16 Turnovers.
5. Vince Carter had 26 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds (just like how i predicted, hehe) but he was -12 in the game.
6. Jason Kidd had another near triple double, but he had 8 TOs, and was -4.
7. Cleveland had 10 steals, Jersey had 4

We definitely played better than game 1, shot the ball better, with the exception of VC, and played pretty good D on everyone on the Cavs, with the exception of LeBron James.who torched us in the second half, but it wasn’t defense that stopped us tonight, it was the rebounding, missed FTs, and Turnovers.

Vince Carter has to responsible for this loss no matter what, two straight possessions in the fourth where we had the chance to peg back the Cavs, he let slipped those two chances, and at the end there’s even a pathetic 5 second violation by the Nets.

Richard Jefferson was decent overall, but he just isn’t at his best guarding LBJ, he toyed with RJ, sad to say, and Drew Gooden? he single handedly outrebounded our team’s starting C and PF, by 10. Mikki moore could only muster 3 rebounds in 29 minutes, Collins? don’t even bother.

I don’t know why Lawrwence Frank refuses to play Josh Boone more, ya he did shot 1-6 from the line, which is awful, but he manged all that in 12 minutes, he can score tons of points if he could make his FTs, so get him in the game and see what he could do.

This is a tough loss, but we have two more home games still to play, if we could win game 3, this will be a series officially.
